Street Fighter: Sagat by BrandonPalas Street Fighter: Sagat by BrandonPalas
Another Street Fighter character -- these are turning out to be a lot of fun! Despite playing Street Fighter off and on since SFII came out in the arcades, I never really drew any of these characters much.

Sagat was always one of the coolest characters. I never really played him much, but that goes for most of them.

I butchered the color on this one, but oh well -- it's a learning process. :)

I love this picture man Sagat is one of my favorites. Did you do the line up on illustrator, photoshop or did you line and ink it by hand?

Thanks, man! I did the lines ("pencils" and "inks") in Manga Studio.

I think the color looks really good. Tell me why he looks flat though. Is it just me? Is there anything you'd do differently with this if you did it again?

Hmm...I'm not sure -- do you think you could be more specific about what part, or how it looks flat? It could be the coloring job -- the "dimensional" rendering is a lot more pronounced in some areas, which would reasonable make the less-pronounced areas look flatter. Like I said, I butchered the colors -- I didn't really have a plan, and it shows. :)I also know that there are some drawing issues, mainly with the foreshortening of the left arm around the shoulder, and the way the head's situated. So yeah -- probably one of those things.
